On a recent Friday night the bar and restaurant areas were packed and reservations were a must. The place was humming. Sometimes the background noise was a bit much. But the food was particularly good as was the service. Five of us spent the evening with the tab for appetizers, entrees, desserts and drinks coming to just about $300 without tip. The salads were top notch. My squash soup was way above average.
Entrees for the group include Cod, Pork Chops, Filet Mignon, Mussels with hot peppers and half of a Duck. All were exceptional. I ordered the Duck which was too much to eat so I doggy bagged the rest. I sampled the Mussels served as a main course and they were out of sight. The wine list is extensive with many options only served by the bottle. The Tavern also had some interesting beer choices. We didn’t notice many kids with their parents having dinner. It seemed to be mostly couples or small groups out for an especially good time. We will be going back, often I assume.
