Wine Buying Guide Book Review

Good, Better, Best: A No Nonsense Guide to Popular Wines If you are a wine collector or connoisseur this is not the book for you.  However, if you are looking for affordable easy-to-find wines, you have found your book.  Carolyn Evans Hammond has a no-nonsense approach some of the world’s top selling wines.  The first two chapters which cover trade secrets and wine drinking tips are worth the read.  The wines in the following chapters are organized by grape varietal and then by price.  A basic description of each varietal is provided with a multitude of informative tidbits on the side.  Most importantly, the book only covers wines that are under $15.  And for your party planning needs, she also recommends wines for various events ranging from backyard barbeques to wedding receptions.  This book is great resource for your next trip to the wine store.
