Monica's

MonicasA Cozy friendly Italian restaurant with an extensive menu. Worth the trip!
Our good friend Isobel invited me to join her for dinner one recent Friday night. Good thing she had made a reservation because by 6:30 virtually every table was taken. Do definitely plan ahead.

The menu is as extensive as you could possibly want. They have plenty of choices for appetizers, home made soups, chicken, veal and pasta (some home made) dishes. Plus they have daily specials and traditional Italian dishes such as Eggplant Rollitini and Chicken Milanese. They appear more than happy to cook something especially for you. Isobel had a Salmon entrée which she raved about. I had the Veal Fresco, sliced breaded veal with grilled tomatoes and fresh made mozzarella. It was as good as I have had anywhere. We started out splitting a salad of all fresh vegetables and a great dressing which was more than we could finish.

The dessert choices included Cannoli, Tiramisu, Raspberry or Chocolate Truffle, various Gelato flavors and Mixed Berry Sorbet which was my excellent choice.

Monica's has a lengthy wine list. We shared a Merlot recommended by our waitress who did a really terrific job with us. Despite it being a very busy Friday night we never felt rushed in the least.

Everything included our evening out was a bit over $80. It was well worth it and hard to beat elsewhere.

Rather than recommending any specific selections, consider this a recommendation for Monica's itself. I am sure every thing you try will be first rate.
