About Our Education Foundation
The Garden State Woman Education Foundation 501(c)(3)
Garden State Woman is a network of women helping women. To extend that network, we founded the Garden State Woman Education Foundation (501 © 3) in 2007 to help New Jersey businesswomen and emerging young women leaders become all that they can be. There is a very fierce and blunt quote that we love by Madeleine Albright: “There is a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women”.
We provide career and personal life guidance and important connections by:
- Organizing diversified educational networking events
- Generating important content on gswoman.com
- Providing financial and mentoring support to our scholars

About Our Scholarship Fund
For these young scholars that we help, the road to higher education has not been an easy one by any means. Through this fund we are able to provide financial assistance to these outstanding young women who have graduated from New Jersey inner-city high schools and are accepted to four-year colleges or universities in New Jersey. These scholars are highly motivated and have the potential to make a tremendous impact on the world, but only with your help!
In the past six years, we have helped to support bright young women attending Seton Hall University, William Paterson, and Rutgers University. Some of the areas in which our scholars are studying consist of teaching, medical technology, clinical psychology, and business.
Mentors and Paid Internships: The foundation also works to find female mentors and paid internships for the selected young women. We also involve them heavily in the various Garden State Woman programs. For example, they write about their college experiences on our website and we invite them to attend our various events during the year. In short, we want to expose them to as many smart, capable and successful New Jersey women as possible.
You can support our hands-on efforts to positively change the lives of our Garden State Woman scholars, who are committed to growing beyond difficult inner-city circumstances. We believe education and exposure to successful women and positive new experiences will be one of the keys to helping our Garden State Woman scholars succeed in the future.
You can help by contributing to our scholarship fund, mentoring one of our scholars or by having your organization provide meaningful, paid internship opportunities. Our scholars are smart, determined, and they work hard. They will add value to whatever organizations they join. They are not looking for token, handout, mundane, temporary jobs. We also believe they deserve pay and accountability for the quality of their efforts.
Financial Support: You can make a direct financial contribution to the foundation’s scholarship fund by sending a check – any amount appreciated – to Garden State Woman Education Foundation Scholarship Fund at 210 Parker Road, Long Valley, NJ 07853 or donating online via paypal.
